I focus my practice on planning and controversy. I have 20 years of experience in the accounting and tax arena advising clients across a myriad of specialties and industries.
Having run the gamut of tax practice working at law, certified public accountant and public companies my notable experience includes: RJS Law Firm, Tax Director of the Los Angeles office of Macias, Gini & O'Connell, LLP, a top 50 international accounting firm, Senior Manager at Miller Kaplan Arase LLP, working for a former Vice-Chair of the Tax Section of the State Bar of California as well as a former Chair of the Federal Tax Committee of the California Society of CPAs. I've also experienced the Sempra Energy financial leadership tax rotation program. I serve as outside CFO for various organizations, including both for-profit and tax-exempt. I have significant, direct operating experience in the acquisition and integration of professional services firms into other organizations on the path to growth.
I also teach and design tax and accounting courses. I have done so at University of California, San Diego Extended Studies Business & Leadership Division as well as for the veteran-founded, non-profit National University.
I hold a Master of Business Taxation from the Marshall School of Business/Leventhal School of Accounting at University of Southern California, a Juris Doctor from Thomas Jefferson School of Law and a Bachelor in Commerce degree with an emphasis in Corporate Financial Management from the Driehaus College of Business at DePaul University.
Last but foremost, I am a Dad and coach of the Palos Verdes Silver Spur Little League baseball team.

Sam Imandoust focuses his practice on tax controversy and tax planning. He has extensive experience representing clients in tax audits, appeals and collection matters before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), California Franchise Tax Board (FTB), Employment Development Department (EDD), and California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA). He also provides tax planning and tax return preparation for corporations, partnerships, and individuals.
Prior to becoming Of Counsel with RJS LAW, Mr. Imandoust represented and advised clients for over ten years regarding tax controversy, tax planning, estate planning, corporate transactions, bankruptcy and real estate law. Mr. Imandoust also serves clients as outside general counsel including a restaurant franchise with seven locations and over 600 employees. He earned his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from California Western School of Law and his Master of Laws in Taxation (LL.M.) from Thomas Jefferson School of Law.
Mr. Imandoust is an adjunct professor in National University’s Master of Accountancy program and recently developed a new course titled: Legal Issues in Accounting while also teaching individual taxation and taxation of business and other entities.
Mr. Imandoust currently resides in Carlsbad with his wife and children.
